knees....

Hello Everyone,

ok so I am bummed that I am still in mega recovery mode from my bilateral knee surgery. The left knee is almost free of pain but the right knee which I have nick named Puff Daddy is still giving me all sorts of pain. I am hoping by the weekend I will feel a little crafty and get some sewing therapy in.

I have some summer dresses in the back of my head, a cute idea for a reversible little purse, a crayon roll up, etc....

Also those of you who were asking about the classes I taught at mega meet I will be teaching them again at Scrappy Chic in Livonia Mi.

Have a great day, Hailey

hello mixed media students

hello everyone,

I have been waiting for some nice weather so I can take so good photos of the CAFE' mixed media book we made last weekend. The pictures I took in the basement are very dark. Today looks like it will be really nice day for pictures so I should have my blog updated about 9pm after the kidos hit the sheets....

Also those of you interested in a custom tote cover please email me with the measurements and picture of your tote bag :)

have a great day, Hailey

Mega Meet here we come....

hello everyone,

I am very excited that both of our class submissions we accepted for Great Lakes Mega Meet. Those of you in the Tri-State area and Canada already know that this is the largest and best Scrapbook Expo that comes around. This year Tim Holtz is even teaching some classes.....

So in a three day span I will teach 300 people....very exhausting and awesome at the same time. 2 years ago at CKC Ft. Lauderdale, I taught 600 people so I am looking forward to only 2 classes per day so I can enjoy the show and talk to some more of my crafty peeps. Teaching is definitely my passion second to creating fun projects. Looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones :)

Hurry up and register to be notified as soon as classes open up. Typically they sell out on the first or second day of registration. Click on the link above to go to the mega meet site.

I will also be teaching some additional classes exclusive to Scrappy Chic at the store the same weekend.....keep an eye out in their newsletter for the class description and times.....

Have a great day, Hailey

ok mostly done....

ok so here are the covers of the mini-books I had to whip up tonight for Chris to submit for me to teach at mega meet. You would think after the 3rd year we would figure out the date that class samples needed to be completed by :)

The basic insides are done too but need a little sprucing. Dont worry they will be fun :) too

Have a great day or night, Hailey

ready-set-scrap

Haha that's what I feel like today. Chris the owner of the best store Scrappy Chic, in Livonia was funny today. We were talking about what classes to offer at the local Scrapbook Convention in May - MegaMeet, and I said well when are they due? She emailed me that they we already due but if we get them something today or tomorrow they could consider it....WOW so a quick trip with all the guys at lunch today we ran into the store and picked up some supplies.

Then tonight I need to whip out two ridiculous fantastic eye catching mini-books.....

I am making one Father's Day/Manly book with G45 papers that mind you arrived just before we got to the store, and one with the cute new CosmoCricket....

So some speedy scrapping tonight...Have a great day, Hailey

Upcoming Class

Hello Everyone,

I am bringing back an oldie but goodie. I taught this class over 3 years ago and I think I am going to bring it back. The beach jar mini book. I have an upcoming trip to Jamaica and will be returning with some sand and will be making another one of these cute jars for my shelf.

What do you think? Do you have any sand or shells around and want to take this class? Let me know so I can get it on the schedule.

PS - These will be for Scrappy Chic in Livonia...but I do travel to teach so if you want this at your store let me know so I can set it up!

Auto Show....and new classes

hello everyone.....it has been forever since I last posted. I have not had much time to scrap or create art so I have not had much to post. I did however attend the charity black tie event for the auto show this past Friday and it was a blast. Here is a pic! I also was able to scrap 1 12x12 layout last time I was at Scrappy Chic, was too busy catching up with my friends to get much more than that done....but it still does not have any pictures on it! What's next for 2010? You tell me. I have a book idea that I will be busy putting together for a bid. so I will be busy making samples for that.

What kind of classes, technique, or product based classes do you want?

Let me know....have a great day Hailey

December Daily update

phew.....I would have never have guessed that it would be this hard to find time to update during the month of December......Its almost the big day and here is what I have done since the last post.

The 14th & 15th - We had family movie night and watched Elf. The 15th has journaling, but it is hard to read in the photo.
The 16th - Pat and I went to another Christmas party. It was at Charley's Crab and I got a $75 gift card from his other boss...
The 17th - Ah....this picture turned out bad....it is a picture of a pile of shopping reciepts from the days take.
The 18th - Is pictures of my presents that I got from my work exchange....
The 19th - Is journaling from our busy day of more Christmas shopping, dinner at olive garden, and then a movie (Princess and the Frog)
The 20th - We went to the Lions game and the 21st we did not have anything really to note so I used that day to hold the ticket stubs.
The 22nd - I caught this sweet pic of jake in the backseat while I was driving....So it is not the best quality but it is a priceless shot. He is reading the instructions on how to use his new toy from aunt claudia.
Have a great day and holiday! Hailey

computer update

ok so it looks like I will be without a home computer for a few more days. I thought I was all set for my new computer and I need to wait for a custom one to be built. so how about a give a way for all the hassle! Post a comment and I will randomly pick a name for some great prizes from the prize drawer! Since it is December.....prizes just might have a winter'y theme!

PS - I will draw a name Thursday night! So comment away!

Have a great day, Hailey

Yeah! It's December 1st

Hi everyone, I am happy to say that I have all the album pictures taken and even the pictures for December 1st. However I am not happy to report that my home computer is now officially dead. Which means the new wireless router I bought yesterday to fix my ability to connect to the internet was not the problem. So now I am in the market for a new home computer. I will be trying to do my uploads at work today....

seriously hello Nov 24th. where has the month gone. I have been busy gathering supplies for my Dec Daily album class this Sunday. i think there might be 2 lucky spots still available. We have been scraping together supplies since Mistletoe is no longer available from Making Memories. It has been challenging but I think we've got everything (as long as my box of word fetti arrives on time)

Anyway here are some pictures for the Nov BGPOTM. Which is also on Sunday.

Weekend With Donna

Hi Everyone,

Donna Downey was in town this weekend teaching workshops at Scrappy Chic. After work on Saturday I got to hang with Donna Downey. It was awesome I learned soooooo many tricks and techniques. We even took her friend to get her nose pierced between classes. It was very cool. Here are a couple pics from the weekend.

PS - We are also getting together a group to caravan to the Inspired Artist Workshop next spring. So if you are registered or are going to let me know so I can add you to the list.

Project Sheets and 2010 Classes

Warning very wordy post!

Ok so time to start planning......I am working on the idea of creating some class sheets. Which will work the following way. I create a gorgeous project from simple to extravagant. You either sign up to take the class which includes the materials and live instruction from moi. Or after the class you can purchase the project sheet, which are the color instructions for the project. Also, some items will just be project sheets only like a fabulous explosion box I am working on. This way you can purchase the project sheet and have the flexibility of using your own supplies or purchasing different supplies instead of what I used.

Sound great? The project sheet for the cookbook and fragment mirror will be available first. Hopefully by next week once I work out the details.

Now for 2010 classes.....Last year (because I did not want to take the time to plan out an entire series of classes) I taught the BGPOTM Class. Which the layouts were good, however there were several issues that were out of my control...Like instruction/dimensional issues, use of obsolete tools, and providing different supplies than used in the layout.....So this year I am thinking of something fun and out of the box...The take out box.....Ha ha....I want to still teach a montly class or like club or clique or group whatever. But I want the student to be able to pick any topic or theme so I have a few ideas but what are yours?

Leave me a comment and let me know what you want for next year......
